Dental Sealants

Sealants protect the depressions and grooves of your teeth from accumulating food particles and plaque that brushing and flossing can't reach. Sealants are easy to apply, taking only a few minutes to complete for each tooth. After cleaning the tooth, a tooth-colored composite "coating" is painted into the depressions and grooves of the tooth and hardened. This effectively seals the deep grooves acting as a barrier to protect the enamel from the plaque and acids that cause tooth decay (cavities).
